About

My name is Adam Vautier

I graduated with a Bachelor of Osteopathy with honours from the London School of Osteopathy and I work as a registered osteopath in established health clinics in London and Kent. I am also a Level 3 qualified Sports Massage Therapist, which gives me invaluable experience in providing hands-on treatment and enhancing my osteopathic care for my patients.

I have an interest in helping people to become more aware of their own body and its abilities, whilst providing support during their rehabilitation and return to health.

I bring an empathetic and caring nature with a history of martial arts, meditation and a personal experience of chronic pain. I utilise the lessons learnt to provide effective, bespoke treatment for my patients.

In my spare time I can be found spending quality time with his family, playing guitar or surfing.

What is Osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a healthcare system that is focused on the body moving in balance.

This is achieved this using hands-on techniques that affect muscles, joints and ligaments.

It is believed that a balanced body is necessary for the proper function of all of the body's systems and processes, leading to a healthy and strong individual.

FAQ

Are you registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC)?

Yes I am, my registration number is: 11361

I am also a member of the Institute of Osteopathy, my membership number is: 107369

Will I be asked to get undressed when seeing an osteopath?

You will be, however, we would not like to make you do something you are not comfortable with so it may be worth bringing some loose fitting clothing with you, like a pair of loose shorts or trousers and top.

Is there anything I need to bring with me?

Some loose fitting clothing (as discussed in the previous question), any medical reports that you have, copies of x-rays or scans and anything you feel is relevant to your reason for seeing us.

What is going to happen at the first appointment?

We will start with a discussion about why you have booked the appointment – i.e. where your pain is, how it started, etc

You will be asked about your current and past medical history (conditions you live with, operations you’ve had, any medications you are taking, etc)

For the examination we will need to see your body to assess you, we will look at your standing posture, feel the quality of your tissues (i.e. where your tight muscles are), I will ask you to move the affected areas, I will move the affected area and, if needed, perform some special tests.

I will then discuss with you what my examination has informed me about what is happening and what the next steps are (what treatment will be looking to achieve, things you can do to help yourself so that your quality of life can improve.

Once you have confirmed you are happy, treatment will then happen. A discussion and demonstration (if appropriate) of exercises and self care tips will then finish off the session.
